When books get longer, it’s easy to lose track of the story -- sometimes without even realizing it! It helps to have strategies for keeping track of the whole story. One strategy is reading with same-book partners! Reading the same books as a partner can help readers talk, clarify, and ask questions to better understand the books they are reading. Another strategy is that as books become longer and more complex, readers jot down notes on Post-its to keep track of the story and remember the important things that happen.
